Jordan Van Biert is a choral conductor and organizational leader based in Edmonton. He has led Vocal Alchemy since 2007. He directs several adult choirs, from amateur to professional. No matter the experience level of the singers, Jordan’s enthusiasm and knowledge helps choir members challenge their own limitations and experience the transformative power of music.

In addition to Vocal Alchemy, Jordan is the artistic director of Ante Meridiem and the conductor of Chronos Vocal Ensemble, an award-winning chamber choir he founded in 2013. He serves as the director of music at Trinity Lutheran Church and as executive director for Singspiration, a summer choral camp for youth at Concordia University of Edmonton.

Jordan is an accomplished ensemble singer in his own right and appears regularly with professional choirs in Alberta. He is in demand as a workshop leader, adjudicator, juror and organizational consultant. In 2016 he was nominated as an Emerging Artist in Edmonton’s Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts and honoured with the Con Spirito award by Choir Alberta, which recognizes the “spirit and dedication of individuals and their commitment to choral music in their local community.”

Jordan is a lifelong Edmontonian. His firsthand experience with the power of choral music to change lives inspires him every day.
