LEARN MORE ABOUT SINGING WITH VOCAL ALCHEMY

How did you hear about us?

Thanks for your interest in singing with Vocal Alchemy. We look forward to speaking with you!

Vocal Alchemy will begin rehearsals for the 2023-2024 Season on September 5. We will have open rehearsals for three Tuesdays starting September 5 to give prospective members the chance to see if Vocal Alchemy is a good fit for them. If you'd like to join an open rehearsal, drop us a note using the form below.

Rehearsals

Vocal Alchemy rehearses on Tuesdays, 7:00—9:30pm, September through May in central Edmonton. In the week leading up to a concert, extra rehearsals are added. We also hold occasional weekend retreats or other workshops.

Find your voice in our community of singers

Vocal Alchemy is an adult community choir open to anyone who shares our belief in the transformative power of music and our commitment to working together and growing as singers. With members from all walks of life and of all skill levels, we come together because we love to sing, we value community, and we want to inspire others.

Weekly rehearsals under the professional direction of Jordan Van Biert help us learn and grow together. You will be challenged—and supported—to reach your full potential. Our repertoire is carefully chosen and explores the rich heritage of the Western choral tradition: from its centuries-old monuments to new pieces written by living composers.

Each fall, we take in new members as we begin to prepare for a new season of concerts. We also accept new members mid-season, as space and circumstances permit.

If you are looking for a choir that balances a welcoming atmosphere with a commitment to excellence, you have found it. Use the form below to contact us for more information about joining!

Voice Placements

We have no formal audition, and welcome anyone who can match pitch and wants to sing and learn with us! However, we do provide new members the opportunity of a brief voice placement session with Jordan to help him become familiar with each new singer and place them in the appropriate section. New singers can arrange this after their first few rehearsals.

"The music is challenging and beautiful; it is exciting to learn and to perform."

“It feels great to work together in such a unique community with strong leadership to create an awesome sound.”
