Sing with Us!
Now's the time to join Vocal Alchemy!
Vocal Alchemy began rehearsals for the 2022-2023 Season on September 6, and now we're getting ready for our 20th Anniversary concert Into our Future on November 29! If you're interested in singing with us, we encourage you to get tickets and check out the concert. We'll be open to new singers again after this performance, beginning with an open rehearsal on December 13 before we take our holiday break. Send us a note using the form below and we'll be in touch!

Rehearsals
Vocal Alchemy rehearses on Tuesdays, 7:00—9:30pm, September through May in central Edmonton. In the week leading up to a concert, extra rehearsals are added. We also hold occasional weekend retreats or other workshops.
Find your voice in our community of singers
Vocal Alchemy is an adult community choir open to anyone who shares our belief in the transformative power of music and our commitment to working together and growing as singers. With members from all walks of life and of all skill levels, we come together because we love to sing, we value community, and we want to inspire others.
Weekly rehearsals under the professional direction of Jordan Van Biert help us learn and grow together. You will be challenged—and supported—to reach your full potential. Our repertoire is carefully chosen and explores the rich heritage of the Western choral tradition: from its centuries-old monuments to new pieces written by living composers.
Each fall, we take in new members as we begin to prepare for a new season of concerts. We also accept new members mid-season, as space and circumstances permit.
If you are looking for a choir that balances a welcoming atmosphere with a commitment to excellence, you have found it. Use the form below to contact us for more information about joining!
Voice Placements
We have no formal audition, and welcome anyone who can match pitch and wants to sing and learn with us! However, we do provide new members the opportunity of a brief voice placement session with Jordan to help him become familiar with each new singer and place them in the appropriate section. New singers can arrange this after their first few rehearsals.
"The music is challenging and beautiful; it is exciting to learn and to perform."
