Jordan Van Biert Artistic Director
Jordan Van Biert is a choral conductor and organizational leader based in Edmonton. He has led Vocal Alchemy since 2007. No matter the experience level of the singers, Jordan’s enthusiasm and knowledge helps choir members challenge their own limitations and experience the transformative power of music.
Jordan also directs Ante Meridiem, which began as an offshoot of Vocal Alchemy, and Chronos Vocal Ensemble, Edmonton's award-winning chamber choir which he founded in 2013.
Jordan is an accomplished ensemble singer in his own right and appears regularly with Luminous Voices based in Calgary. He is in demand as a workshop leader, adjudicator, juror and organizational consultant. In 2016 he was nominated as an Emerging Artist in Edmonton’s Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts, and also honoured with the Con Spirito award by Choir Alberta, which recognizes the “spirit and dedication of individuals and their commitment to choral music in their local community.”
Jordan is a lifelong Edmontonian. His firsthand experience with the power of choral music to change lives inspires him every day.
